  • The Egyptians created the first dream dictionary in 1350 BC, called the Chester Beatty Papyrus.
  • Our brains tend to be more active when we are asleep, than when we are awake.

Cultivating Your Intuition

As a palmist and energy worker, I have the joy of working with people at various stages of change. One of the shifts that I have seen frequently over the last couple of years has been an increase in people's intuitive awareness, and more willingness in folks to tap into and expand their intuition. This awareness and expansion is occurring in people who have never before considered themselves intuitive, as well as those who have known but have not been ready to take it to the next level. Those who have been tapping their intuition all along are also expanding dramatically in their "sensing" abilities.

It seems people are seeking the hidden message, the inspired detail, the symbolic interpretation...more and more. At an increasing rate, intuition is coming into play in how people make decisions both personally and professionally, and I'm exposed more and more to people who are willing to push boundaries, rules, roles and stereotypes that have previously held them back from owning this side of their nature. This shift is influencing people's sense of purpose, direction, and source of satisfaction in life, as they are called to a deeper space of authenticity and connection.

I believe the next Village Wellness Talk by Shamanic Coach Miguel Pascoe scheduled for November 6th at the Village Healing Centre (7-8pm, FREE), is a very timely one. "Tuition on Intuition" promises to help individuals get better acquainted with their intuition, learn ways to work with it, and strategies for overcoming intuitive blocks. Not only does the content align with the shift in people's awareness and willingness to tap into this side of themselves, it is also a very intuitive time of year, when the veil between worlds is the thinnest. It is a popular time for divination, dream interpretation, meditation, and ancestral connection.

Hope to see you there!

Stressed? How to support your adrenal glands, naturally

"I'm Stressed!" We say it all the time, yet it can be hard to really pin down what's really going on in our bodies when we say it, especially if (like for many people) it has become a familiar state of mind & body.

Many organizations and wellness initiatives have sought to tackle the causes, effects, and coping strategies for managing stress, because it has very real consequences not only in our private lives but on workplace productivity. The Canadian Mental Health Association sheds some light on the topic, and has dedicated a portion of their website to helping people understand the signs and symptoms of stress and how to cope, including a stress index test and a number of really helpful articles: http://www.cmha.ca/mental-health/your-mental-health/stress/

Whether you're experiencing it now or in the future, stress is certainly something we all go through - and it is important that we all be armed with some tools to cope with its effects. Naturopathic medicine is a primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. The naturopathic philosophy is to stimulate the healing power of the body and treat the underlying cause of disease.

For a naturopathic perspective on coping with stress, this upcoming Village Wellness Talk (FREE!) with Suzanne Ho-Miecznikowski (B.Sc., ND) is a must-see:

She uses a unique blend of medical science and natural treatments to resolve a broad range of chronic and acute complaints. September's Wellness Talk at the Village Healing Centre brings some palmistry insight around a pattern that is frequently witnessed in my clients, particularly in women.

Palmistry has made me more aware of how so many women are needing replenishment of their heart and root. The realm of family, love, relationships, and home has become tired. Many women are emotionally exhausted, over-extended, and in the process of finding health and balance. Interestingly, the area of the palm that becomes active is the mount that connects us to our intuition, inspiration, and to the unseen realm of dream and energy. Called to go within, how do we balance the demands of our relationships and home?

This 1-hr talk will help participants identify this pattern on their own palm and the palms of others. We will work through what it could mean, how to support the healing and replenishment of a tired heart, and create connection between the quiet and unseen space that inspires us, and the space of love and home.
